- Visa-free entry agreement countries: Some countries have a visa-free agreement with the United States that allows them to enter the country without a visa for short-term tourism or visitation (typically stays of less than 30 to 90 days). You should check to see if your country is eligible for visa-free entry.
- Long-term stay or specific purpose: If you plan to stay longer than a certain period of time or enter for a specific purpose (study (D-2), work (E series), marriage (F-6), long-term residence (F-2, F-5), etc.), you must obtain a visa.
- If you are not eligible for a visa-free stay: Nationals who do not have a visa-free agreement with South Korea are required to obtain a short-term visa (C-3, etc.) in advance, even for simple tourism purposes.
